Green Eyed Monsters – Kush Mascara and More!

Cannabis + cosmetics + skincare is all the rage these days. Both new and existing skin care and cosmetic companies are starting up lines of cannabis inspired and infused products all over the world. Depending on which country you are in, or which state of the USA you land, there are all sorts of products to try.

There are anti-aging creams, massage oils, lubricants, coloured make-up, lip gloss, and more! Some companies even have their own full skin care routine packages set up.

But what’s been my favourite product so far you say?

I hate to say it, but I was caught in Sephora spending massive amounts of money, and what did I find? Kush Mascara.

That’s right, Kush Mascara.

But how did Sephora manage to carry this? I thought cannabis could only be sold in regulated dispensaries in the USA and provincial retail or medically online in Canada?

Well, the short answer is, you’re right. But the long answer is, that as long as there are no active ingredients in the product such as THC & CBD, cannabis inspired and infused products that have hemp seed oil in it, can be sold nationally. Hemp seed oil has many different reported health and beauty benefits – you’ve probably seen it in some of your favourite breakfast cereals, cereal bars and protein powders more recently. And, since the plant name cannabis sativa is the same, some beauty manufacturers and brands are using the cannabis buzz to get their products to market.

The one I tried is here:

And, while by now at the age of 34 (I mean 29) I’ve had many different kinds of Mascara in my day, I can honestly say that this brand is one of the best I’ve ever tried, and will keep going back for more on!

Cannabis and beauty have a long way to go together, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
